Paynter
How is it an example of manufacturing to order numbers
Paynter create clothing designed to last. Their business model consists of making garment quanitites to order to ensure there is no wastage. Paynter release 4 batches of clothing per year which creates a feeling of exclusivity to the clothing. Customers are able to pay a small amount of money as a fabric deposit to reserve a item. As the fabric used in the jackets is custom made for Paynter, this helps with predicting the amount of fabric needing to be produced for the garments.
Paynter is combatting overproduction and overconsumption of the fast fashion industry by ensuring that demand is met but not exceeded.
