How does Kankan re-imagine a refill solution?

Whilst many refillable packaging solutions result in additional material in the first purchase, the KANKAN soap dispenser uses the refill as the vessel in an innovative way. With soap shipped in compact tin cans, the user keeps only the pump cap that clips on to the top of the opened refill.

Tin cans are curb-side recyclable in many European countries and what’s more, they actually get recycled. The recycling rate for tinplate from private households was 91.4% in Germany in 2020. This is incredibly high when you consider the recycling rate of every day plastics is around 10%.
